Working with PA Home Energy to deliver whole-house energy savings to improve comfort and help protect the environment.

Used in conjunction with the blower door test, thermography helps detect hidden gaps in your home's thermal boundary. Our goal is to make this boundary as continuous – and as energy-efficient – as can be.
We employ the latest infrared technologies during our performance test. The BCAM SD by FLIR Systems stores over 1,000 images and connects directly to a computer for fast delivery of pictures. Here are a few examples.
These pictures illustrate how cold/warm air leaks into your home under your baseboards. Uninsulated band joists between the floors of your home are the reason why air is leaking in.
There are several different reasons why air is leaking through this wall. 1. The mortar on the exterior side of this wall is crumbling. 2. The electrical outlet is not properly insulated behind the outlet box. 3. Air is penetrating the band joist between the basement and first floor. 4. The insulation (fiberglass batt) was not properly installed.
These pictures demonstrate missing insulating in a cathedral ceiling. Even the smallest gaps in the thermal boundary will allow cold/warm air to leak into the conditioned space.
